When did you become a member of Omnis CrossFit?

January 2016

What do you do when you are not at Omnis CrossFit? (Occupation, Hobbies, etc.…)

Mom to 2 girls, ages 2.5 and 10; work from home part-time as a bookkeeper for a non-profit; volunteer coordinator at Community Bible Study

How did you find out about CrossFit?

My husband Peter is a charter member of Omnis, and he had been doing CrossFit at another box for a few years before Omnis opened

When did you realize CrossFit was right for you?

It took me a really long time to decide to try CrossFit. I didn’t want to spend the money, I’m incredibly uncoordinated, and I’ve never been considered “athletic” at anything in my life. However, I do not have a good track record when it comes to exercising and self-discipline, so I decided to try CrossFit because: individual coaching, community atmosphere, and every workout/movement can be modified. I’m really glad I tried it!

What is your favorite WOD/movement?

Anything except burpees and running.

What is you least favorite WOD/movement?

Burpees and running.

What would your perfect WOD look like?

7-minute AMRAP: 5 front squats/10 amer. kb swings/15 abmat situps

What is one thing that you have done at Omnis CrossFit that you never thought you would do?

Olympic lifting

What motivates you during a CrossFit WOD?

Just knowing that we’re all working toward the same goal together – to finish and improve our fitness!

What is something about yourself that we might not know?

I’m an introvert, so, to unwind and recharge, I like to go do something by myself – go see a movie at the theater, or go to barnes&noble or panera and sit and read.

What advice would you give to someone just getting started with CrossFit?

Just be consistent and keep going back. Give yourself a lot of grace.
